INTECAMP belongs at number one for buyers building a branded range, but only if its role is described accurately.
The company publicly offers portable camping kitchens, washing modules, storage modules and OEM/ODM development. Its compact camping kitchen box with sink and stove lists a dedicated sink or basin area and describes water supply as either manual or an optional faucet-and-pump system. The same page identifies a portable water kit, electric faucet and pump, and clean-water/wastewater package as possible bundle or customization discussions.
That is commercially relevant to an RV retailer. A private-label programme can be designed around a simple gravity container at entry level, then add a pump, faucet, sink and grey-water handling in higher-priced kits. The resulting range can share colours, connection logic, cartons and replacement parts instead of looking like five unrelated marketplace products.
INTECAMP’s publicly shown complete products are portable camping-kitchen systems with cooking, preparation, washing and storage functions. Some kitchen models include a sink or basin area. The complete sellable configuration, however, is controlled by the approved quotation and packing list.
The important limit is this: INTECAMP does not publicly document a standard portable water jug SKU with a stated capacity and included spigot that can be compared line for line with an Aqua-Tainer or Dometic GO jug. It should therefore be introduced as a system-development supplier, not as a finished-jug benchmark.

That evidence supports the description “China-based OEM/ODM supplier.” It does not justify inventing a capacity, MOQ, lead time, certificate package or standard water-container BOM. Those points must come from the project quotation, drawing, bill of materials and approved sample.
The commercial advantage is range architecture. A retailer could develop:
A stand-alone gravity water container with a replaceable spigot.
A water container plus foldable sink bundle.
A premium pump-and-faucet kit.
A removable RV kitchen with fresh-water and grey-water modules.
The same core components can create different price points and after-sales sales. That is more strategic than applying a logo to one generic jerry can and discovering later that no replacement cap, bracket or sink interface was planned.
Commercial classification: public OEM/ODM and modular kitchen capability are documented. A standard INTECAMP water container with a spigot is not established by the public pages reviewed; request a project-specific proposal and sample.

The Dometic GO Hydration Water Jug is a good example of modularity without ambiguity. The 11-litre jug itself includes a spigot and a quick-connect fitting. Dometic also lists two openings for filling, dispensing and cleaning, removable webbed carry handles, built-in tie-down guides and a 63 mm Nalgene-style opening for filters and accessories.
In other words, the base jug is already a complete gravity-dispensing product. A customer does not need to buy the electric faucet simply to use the container.
The separate Dometic GO Hydration Water Faucet is an optional powered module. Dometic says one charge can dispense 150 litres, and the faucet can transform a compatible water container into a running-water system. It includes a placement puck and magnetic base, and it is designed to work with the GO jug.
This creates a clean retail ladder:

Front Runner’s 20-litre tank family shows why a buyer must quote the exact product name, not just the brand and capacity.
The Front Runner Series Pro Water Tank With Tap / 20L includes a 1/2-inch black powder-coated steel lockable tap. Dometic’s current official page also states that the tank uses a 1/2-inch BSP fitting and is made from food-grade polyethylene described as BPA-free.
The Pro Water Tank With Mounting System / 20L adds removable mounting hardware for a roof rack and includes the steel lockable tap. That is a more complete overland transport system than a loose jerry can.
The similarly named Pro Water Tank / 20L, however, is the tank-only version. Its official page says the tap is sold separately.
This is a textbook catalogue-control issue. A retailer importing the tank-only SKU and using photographs of the mounted, tapped version will create customer complaints even if every individual statement on the supplier’s website is technically true. The SKU title, included-components table, product images and warehouse pick list must agree.
For 4WD and overland customers, the mounting system is the differentiator. A full 20-litre tank carries roughly 20 kilograms of water, so bracket load, fasteners, rack limits and vehicle placement matter. The container may be portable when removed, but it is still cargo while the vehicle is moving. The retailer should never imply universal fitment or safe roof loading without the applicable rack and vehicle information.

Ironman’s official page identifies food-grade, BPA-free and UV-stabilised polyethylene, and it says the tanks are water-pressure-tested at the factory. The company advises cleaning the tank before use. The published page also identifies an NPT thread in its product Q&A, which is a reminder that thread standard must be checked before a retailer substitutes a locally sourced metal tap or hose fitting.
Compatibility with common jerry-can holders is attractive for 4WD retailers because the customer may already own the mounting hardware. It also creates a straightforward accessory conversation around holders, straps and replacement caps.
But “standard jerry can” is not a licence to assume perfect interchangeability. Measure the actual body, handle and cap clearances against the holder models sold in the same store. Check whether the installed tap can remain protected inside the holder, whether the cap is accessible, and whether the container can be removed when adjacent carriers are loaded.

GSI also sells a Watercube replacement spigot for the 10-, 15- and 20-litre products. That spare-part continuity is a meaningful advantage in an entry-price category where a broken tap often causes the entire carrier to be discarded.
Collapsible containers are easy to sell in a small retail footprint. An empty 20-litre rigid cube consumes roughly the same volume on the return journey as it did on the way out; a folding carrier does not. That matters to weekend campers, rental vans and customers with limited cupboard space.

LifeSaver publishes a rated purification volume of up to 20,000 litres for the main cartridge, a 4-litre-per-minute initial flow figure under its stated test condition, and microbiological reduction claims on the official product page. The product is designed to fit standard military-style jerry-can vehicle mounts and is positioned for camping, vanlife, overlanding and off-grid use.
This is a differentiated premium SKU for customers who may draw water from uncertain sources, travel far from services or maintain an emergency kit in the RV. It can also support a high-value education story around replacement cartridges, activated-carbon discs, cleaning and safe operating practice.
That education is not optional. A purification claim creates a different duty of care from a storage jug. Retail staff and product pages must explain:

The Outwell Hydration Water Container 18L is a rigid family-camping format with a tap, wide filling opening, spare lid and extension water hose. Outwell lists food-grade PE and PP, dual handles, an 18-litre volume and a product weight of 820 grams.
The inclusion of a spare lid and extension hose is more commercially interesting than it first appears. The spare lid gives the customer a closure option when the dispensing hardware is not needed, while a hose can move the outlet closer to a pot, basin or edge of the table. Those small parts turn a container into a more usable campsite dispensing package.
At 18 litres, the product sits close to the familiar five-gallon class without reaching the 26-litre lifting burden of larger carriers. Dual handles can help with controlled movement, but a buyer should still test the grip with the container full and wet.

The Coleman 5 Gallon Water Carrier is a simple North American reference: roughly 18.9 litres, a molded handle, hinged lid and an easy-use faucet/spigot that unscrews for filling.
This kind of product earns its shelf space through familiarity. Customers understand the five-gallon capacity, the broad stable body and the low-mounted dispenser without a long demonstration. It works for campgrounds, RV sites, group picnics, sports and event use, giving a retailer more than one seasonal story.
The wide, round footprint has advantages and costs. It can be stable on a picnic table and easy to identify as a water dispenser, but it does not pack as efficiently beside rectangular storage boxes or inside narrow van cabinetry. Compare the actual diameter and height with the cargo bays and shelves common in the target channel.
The lid-and-faucet arrangement should also be tested in both modes: transport and dispensing. The OZtrail Keep Cold 20L Water Jug Cooler brings insulation into the comparison. OZtrail lists a 20-litre capacity, PU insulation, an ergonomic handle and a leak-proof push tap. The referenced product weighs 4 kilograms empty and has a round 32 cm by 46 cm form.
This is not the most space-efficient way to carry water in a packed 4WD. It is useful for a different job: keeping drinking water or other beverages cooler through a hot day and dispensing them repeatedly at a campsite, sporting event or worksite.
The empty product weight matters. Add approximately 20 kilograms of water to the 4-kilogram vessel and the customer is handling around 24 kilograms, or 53 pounds. The likely use pattern is therefore “fill, place and dispense,” not repeated hand-carrying over distance.
An insulated jug also deserves a different cleaning conversation from a plain jerry can. Capacity and material make good filter labels. The dispensing hardware decides whether the product is pleasant to own.
A tap mounted above the true low point leaves water behind. Sometimes that is structurally necessary, but the customer should not have to lift and tilt a 20-kilogram container for every final cup. Test the residual volume on a level surface and decide whether the result is acceptable for drinking, washing and end-of-trip draining.
As water leaves a rigid container, air must enter. A dedicated vent, loosened cap or ventless valve architecture can manage that exchange. Without it, flow may pulse and the container walls may deform. The operating instruction should explain exactly what the user opens before dispensing and closes before transport.
“Half inch” is incomplete without the thread standard. BSP and NPT fittings are not automatically interchangeable. A better assortment may use two smaller containers instead of one very large one. Two 10-litre containers allow a camper to separate drinking and washing water, carry one in each hand, refill without giving up the whole campsite supply and replace only one unit if damaged.
For RV customers, shape can matter more than litres. Measure wheel-well spaces, under-seat compartments, cabinet openings and slide-out trays. A round insulated jug may excel at the campsite and fail in the van. A narrow jerry can may fit the carrier and be awkward on a picnic table. A collapsible cube may pack beautifully when empty but need a crate or stable shelf when full.

For most RV retailers, a sensible 2027 range has four levels:
A collapsible entry SKU in the 10- to 15-litre class.
A rigid 15- to 20-litre gravity container with a replaceable tap.
A vehicle-mounted or premium powered-faucet system.
A specialist purification or insulated dispenser.
Private-label buyers can then decide which level deserves their own brand and which branded products bring useful consumer recognition.
An empty sample on a meeting-room table is not a product test. Build a repeatable evaluation sheet and keep photographs and results with the approved sample.
Fill the container to its stated working capacity using the instructed procedure. Inspect the main cap, vent, tap body, threaded insert and gasket. Test the transport orientation the manufacturer actually permits; do not invent a side-storage claim for an upright-only product.
Have representative users lift the filled product from the floor, a vehicle cargo bay and a waist-high filling point. Record grip comfort, knuckle clearance, handle flex and whether a second hand has a safe support point.
Measure how the flow starts, whether it pulses, and how the user controls it with one hand. Check splashing into a cup, kettle, pan and sink basin. Note residual water when the product sits level.
Agree on a cycle test appropriate to the intended warranty and price position. Remove and reinstall serviceable parts according to the instructions. Confirm that a replacement tap or gasket is actually orderable, not merely visible in a drawing.
Use the container for several days, then clean it exactly as a customer would at a campsite. Check whether hands, brushes or cleaning solution can reach the interior. Time how long the vessel, cap and tap take to drain and dry in normal conditions.
Place the filled sample in the actual holder, cargo tray, cabinet or retail display proposed for the programme. Verify cap access, tap protection, tie-down points and removal clearance. A CAD fit is useful; a physical fit catches handles, hoses and fingers.
Inspect how the tap, cap and handle are protected in the retail carton and master carton. For e-commerce, use a qualified packaging test appropriate to the distribution route. A rigid water container is mostly empty shipping volume, so carton design and nesting strategy can materially change landed cost.
Sensory impressions are useful for screening, but they do not replace food-contact evidence. Review the exact material declaration, test reports, production lot control and approved claims for the final colour and component set.
A retailer can sell one water jug. A brand can build a small ecosystem around it.
The core item should work without a battery or accessory purchase. Specify capacity, vent, cap, tap, handle, transport position and replacement seals. If a tap must be reversed for travel, show that action on the first instruction panel.
Package the most likely wear and loss items together. Keep the component number stable across multiple container sizes where engineering permits. A service kit has little visual glamour and disproportionate after-sales value.
A rechargeable faucet can raise average order value and make the system attractive to vanlife customers. It should connect without improvised adapters, have a defined hose-cleaning procedure and remain optional so the base product is still useful when the battery is flat.
A fresh-water container beside an open basin is not a complete RV water system. Decide where used water goes. A foldable sink, drain hose and clearly separate grey-water container create a more responsible and organised bundle.
Design the mounting interface around the filled mass, not the empty display product. Vehicle fit, rack limits and installation responsibility need clear boundaries. A “universal” strap claim can become dangerous if the attachment points are not defined.
Filtration and insulation answer specific user needs and bring specific documentation. Do not add them as decorative feature creep. A filter needs performance evidence and consumables. Insulation needs honest temperature-use claims and more shipping volume.

This distinction is not a criticism of branded companies. A recognised brand can bring product support, dealer assets and customer demand that a new private-label line lacks. It simply solves a different commercial problem from a factory that will discuss tooling, drawings, samples and packaging changes.
“Food-grade” and “BPA-free” are useful claims only when they belong to the exact product being imported. A complete water container can include several materials: the tank body, cap, gasket, vent, tap, hose, adhesive, ink and perhaps a filter or pump. The documentation file must follow that final bill of materials.
The European Commission’s food-contact-materials guidance explains the EU framework for materials intended to contact food. The U.S. FDA’s food-contact information provides a starting point for substances used in food-contact applications in the United States.
For a 2027 programme, the importer and its compliance adviser should review:
intended use with drinking water, beverages or utility water;
contact time and permitted temperature range;
tank, cap, gasket, tap and hose materials;
colourants, recycled content, coatings and printed surfaces;
migration or other market-specific test requirements;
cleaning chemicals and care instructions;
traceability and production-lot control;
warnings for sunlight, heat, freezing, fuel and non-potable use;
and, where fitted, electrical, battery, filter and performance requirements.
A component report is not automatically a final-product approval. A tank test does not cover a substituted tap. A faucet’s electrical documentation does not prove the hose is suitable for drinking water. A filter certificate should be tied to the exact cartridge, test protocol, flow conditions and claims used on the package.
Fresh-water and grey-water products should also be visually and operationally distinct. Do not encourage customers to move the same hose, cap or container between drinking water and wastewater service.
Water containers are awkward freight: large in volume, low in empty weight and vulnerable at small protruding parts. Good packaging starts with the product architecture.
Reverse or remove the spigot for transport where the design permits it.
Keep caps, vents, gaskets and hose accessories in a labelled inner bag or dedicated recess.
Prevent the handle from carrying carton compression load.
Print the included components clearly on the carton.
Show the full product in both transport and dispensing configurations.
Put filled weight beside nominal capacity so customers understand handling.
Add a QR code for cleaning, tap installation and replacement-part ordering.
Use the same component names in the manual, exploded drawing, service portal and invoice.
Publish carton dimensions and packing quantity for wholesale buyers.
Avoid lifestyle images that show a pump, sink, bracket or grey-water tank unless the caption says whether it is included.
For physical stores, display one deployed product at working height and one packed product. For e-commerce, the first five images should answer capacity, included tap, fill opening, carrying method and packed dimensions before they show a sunset campsite.

For many RV and car-camping customers, 10 to 20 litres is the practical range. Ten or eleven litres is easier to carry. Fifteen to 20 litres reduces refill frequency but puts 15 to 20 kilograms of water in one container. The best size depends on the storage bay, filling method, user strength and whether the container stays mounted.
Not exactly. Five US gallons is about 18.9 litres. In retail, the products occupy a similar capacity class, but dimensions, cap style, tap position and regional customer language may be more important than the small volume difference.
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the exact model. Some products protect the spigot by reversing it into the cap, some recess the valve, and some use a separate travel closure. Do not assume a container can travel full on its side simply because the tap does not leak during upright tabletop use.
A conventional spigot or tap normally relies on gravity, so the container must sit above the cup or sink and may need venting. A powered faucet uses a pump to draw water through a hose, allowing the tank to stay below the work surface. The pump adds charging, cleaning and service requirements.

It is better to keep fresh-water and grey-water equipment permanently separate, clearly labelled and preferably colour-coded. Wastewater can contaminate caps, hoses, taps and interior surfaces. Start before launch: test the approved sample full, verify the intended travel position, control the thread and gasket, publish installation instructions and stock replacement parts. For customer support, identify whether the leak comes from the tap outlet, threaded joint, cap, vent or damaged tank before replacing the whole product.
