A 19-inch portable gas fire bowl designed for camping, RV, patio and private-label outdoor ranges

The INTECAMP EC-PF1 brings the warmth and visual appeal of a campfire into a compact format that is easier for retailers to stock and simpler for campers to transport. Its round metal fire bowl produces up to 60,000 BTU per hour in the standard reference configuration, while a lockable hard lid closes over the bowl and provides an integrated carry handle for vehicle-based travel.

Instead of requiring firewood, the EC-PF1 connects to an external propane cylinder through a 10-foot braided stainless-steel hose and adjustable regulator. Natural lava rock spreads the flame across the bowl and creates a fuller fire pattern. The removable grill grate adds a second use case for buyers building camping, tailgating or RV accessory ranges.

This model is intended for importers, outdoor brands, distributors, wholesalers, RV and overland suppliers, patio retailers and private-label programs. Gas connection, regulator pressure, rated input, product markings and the applicable conformity route are configured for the destination market before production.

Why This Format Works for Outdoor Retail Programs

A visible flame without the firewood routine

Propane eliminates the need to buy, carry and store firewood. It also avoids wood ash, flying embers and the heavy smoke that can make a traditional fire uncomfortable around a campsite. The result is a cleaner setup and a faster pack-down for car campers, RV users and patio customers.

The EC-PF1 should still be described accurately: it is wood-smoke-free during correct combustion, not emission-free. It is an outdoor gas appliance and must never be used in a tent, vehicle, enclosed porch, garage or other enclosed space.

Heat output that can be adjusted at the cylinder side

The standard EC-PF1 configuration is designed for a maximum nominal input of 60,000 BTU/h. A fully adjustable regulator lets the user reduce the flame for a quiet evening or increase it when a larger flame bed is wanted. The final nameplate rating is determined by the approved burner, valve, injector and regulator combination supplied for the destination market.

A lid that solves a real transport problem

Loose lava rock and an exposed burner make many fire bowls awkward to move. The EC-PF1 uses a lockable hard cover with an integrated handle, turning the bowl into a more manageable single unit for loading into an SUV, pickup, caravan or RV storage compartment.

The lid is a transport and storage cover. It must be removed before lighting and must not be refitted until the appliance and lava rock are completely cool. For long-term outdoor storage, a separate weatherproof soft cover is recommended.

A longer hose creates a more practical campsite layout

The supplied 10-foot hose allows the propane cylinder to be positioned away from the hot bowl while keeping the control connection accessible. For wholesale programs, hose length, regulator type, inlet pressure and cylinder connector are matched to the approved market configuration; they are not universal across North America, Europe, the UK and Australia.

Lava rock improves the flame bed

Approximately 4.8 lb of natural lava rock is supplied with the standard set. The porous rock breaks up the burner outline and helps create a more natural-looking flame across the bowl. It is packed separately to protect the burner, coating and carton during transport.

One SKU can serve heating and outdoor cooking ranges

The standard EC-PF1 includes a removable metal grill grate. That makes the product relevant to camping cookware, tailgating and outdoor-living assortments as well as fire-pit ranges. Buyers should decide at the start of a project whether the product will be sold as a decorative outdoor gas appliance, a cooking appliance or a dual-purpose product. That decision affects grate materials, food-contact documentation, instructions, warnings and the required test plan.

Key Product Features

1. Compact 19-inch round body

At approximately 48 cm in diameter, the bowl is large enough to create a convincing circular flame bed but compact enough for car camping and vehicle-based travel. The 28 cm overall height keeps the flame raised above the ground without turning the product into a bulky patio unit.

2. Up to 60,000 BTU/h of adjustable heat

The standard reference configuration provides a nominal maximum input of 60,000 BTU/h, or approximately 17.6 kW. Flame height is controlled through the supplied regulator. Final rated input may change with destination-market gas pressure, injector size and certification requirements.

3. Piezo ignition

The integrated piezo system provides push-button ignition without requiring loose matches. Ignition reliability, electrode position and flame carry-over are checked during production inspection.

4. Braided stainless-steel regulator hose

The approximately 3.05 m hose gives users room to position the cylinder away from the fire bowl. Its metal braid offers additional protection against abrasion and incidental contact, but the hose must still be routed away from hot surfaces, sharp edges and walking paths.

5. Lockable protective lid and carry handle

The hard lid closes over the fire bowl for transport and short-term storage. Latches help keep the set together, and the central handle gives the user a clear lifting point. Lid fit, latch engagement and handle security are inspection points for every production lot.

6. Removable grill grate

The grate can be removed when the unit is being used only as a fire feature. For cooking-focused retail programs, the grate material, surface finish and food-contact declaration should be specified in the purchase order and confirmed by the approved sample.

7. Natural lava rock set

The standard pack includes approximately 2.18 kg of lava rock. Rock size distribution, dust control and pack weight can be specified for private-label orders.

8. Metal construction for repeated outdoor use

The EC-PF1 uses a formed metal fire bowl and metal support components. Steel grade, sheet thickness, burner material, fastener specification and surface finish are fixed in the signed specification sheet before mass production rather than being described only as “metal.”

Typical Applications

Car camping and family campsites

The hard lid and round 19-inch format suit customers who carry their equipment by SUV, pickup or estate car. Setup does not depend on finding dry firewood, and cleanup is limited to cooling, inspection and repacking rather than ash disposal.

RV, caravan and overland travel

For RV accessory retailers, the EC-PF1 offers a clear add-on product beside portable kitchens, outdoor tables and gas accessories. The extended hose supports a practical layout outside the vehicle, provided the unit is used in a fully open, ventilated area and the manual clearances are followed.

Tailgating and outdoor events

Adjustable flame control makes the model useful for pre-game gatherings and temporary outdoor events. Rental operators should add pre-use hose inspection, leak checking, post-use cooling and lava-rock inventory to their turnaround procedure.

Patio and backyard ranges

The visible lava-rock flame also works in outdoor-living assortments. Retailers can differentiate the product from a fixed patio fire table by emphasizing its compact footprint, removable grate and hard carry lid.

Campsites, resorts and outdoor hospitality

Hospitality buyers can use a controlled gas appliance as part of a managed outdoor guest area, subject to local rules, supervision and site risk assessment. Local authorities may restrict propane appliances during high-risk periods, so the EC-PF1 must never be promoted as universally exempt from fire bans.

B2B Buyers: Decisions to Make Before Ordering

A portable propane fire pit is not a single worldwide specification. Before tooling, samples or packaging are approved, buyers should lock the following points:

  1. Declared use: decorative heat, outdoor cooking or dual-purpose use.

  2. Destination countries: gas families, supply pressures, cylinder connectors, labels and instructions vary by market.

  3. Rated input: retain the 60,000 BTU/h reference rating or adjust the burner, injector and regulator for the target market.

  4. Grill configuration: standard grate, food-contact compliant grate, or heating-only set.

  5. Retail bundle: lava-rock weight, hard lid, soft carry bag, cylinder stabilizer and spare parts.

  6. Required assessment: applicable regulation, standard, third-party test scope and factory surveillance requirements.

  7. Packaging channel: e-commerce parcel, wholesale master carton, retail display carton or palletized store delivery.

Resolving these points early prevents a common sourcing mistake: approving the appearance of a fire pit before the gas train and declared use have been defined.

OEM, ODM and Private-Label Options

INTECAMP can develop the EC-PF1 as a branded retail SKU or use it as a starting platform for a wider outdoor-heating range.

Branding and appearance

  • Laser-marked, printed or metal-badge logo placement

  • Custom body and lid colors, subject to heat-zone validation

  • Brand-specific control graphics and warning labels

  • Custom product name and model-number system

  • Coordinated colorways for camping kitchen and fire-pit collections

Functional configuration

  • Destination-market hose, regulator and cylinder connection

  • Alternative nominal heat input, subject to engineering review and testing

  • Heating-only or grill-grate bundle

  • Alternative grate material or finish for cooking-focused ranges

  • Custom lava-rock grade and pack weight

  • Soft storage bag, cylinder stabilizer or accessory kit

  • Selected dimensional or handle changes after feasibility review

Retail packaging

  • Full-color retail carton or plain export carton

  • Barcode, SKU, importer and country-of-sale labeling

  • Multilingual manual and quick-start guide

  • E-commerce protective insert and accessory compartment layout

  • Replacement-part list and after-sales documentation

  • Pallet pattern and container-loading plan

Changes to the burner, valve, injector, regulator, hose, grate or declared use may require a new conformity assessment or additional testing. They should therefore be treated as engineering changes, not cosmetic options.

Market Configuration and Compliance Planning

United States and Canada

Where the EC-PF1 is marketed as an outdoor decorative gas appliance, buyers and their test laboratory should review the current scope of ANSI Z21.97-2017 (R2022) / CSA 2.41-2017 (R2022) and any other rules applicable to the final design and sales channel. Cylinder connection, regulator, hose markings, rated input, clearances, stability, ignition, combustion and warning labels must all belong to the tested configuration.

European Union

Gas appliances placed on the EU market fall within Regulation (EU) 2016/426 on appliances burning gaseous fuels when the product is within its scope. The exact gas category, supply pressure, injector, regulator, technical file, markings, instructions and conformity-assessment route must be set for the intended Member State or States. A CE mark should only be used after the exact EC-PF1 market version has completed the applicable assessment.

UK, Australia and other markets

The importer should define the applicable local approval route with an accredited test body before mass production. A North American regulator or cylinder fitting should never be assumed to work in another country simply because the fuel is also described as propane or LPG.

Cooking versus decorative use

Adding a grill grate can change the claims, user behavior and compliance scope. If cooking is part of the intended use, the project should define the grate material, food-contact requirements, grease management, cleaning instructions and relevant cooking-appliance tests. If the product is to be sold only as a decorative outdoor fire feature, cooking claims and cooking imagery should be removed.

Important: Certification, approval and conformity claims are model- and market-specific. They must be supported by documents that identify the same construction, gas train, rating and model supplied in the order.

Production Quality Control

The EC-PF1 inspection plan can be aligned with the buyer’s approved sample, critical-to-quality list and destination-market test requirements. Recommended controls include:

  • Incoming inspection of sheet metal, burner components, fasteners, hose and regulator

  • Verification of metal thickness, formed dimensions and assembly fit

  • Coating appearance and adhesion checks outside the direct-flame zone

  • Burner, injector, valve and regulator part-number verification

  • Gas-path leak testing on every finished unit using the approved procedure

  • Piezo ignition function and electrode-position inspection

  • Flame carry-over and visual flame-pattern check at specified pressure

  • Control-knob operation and high/low flame response

  • Hose routing, marking, connector fit and protective-braid inspection

  • Stability and tip-risk review on a level test surface

  • Lid fit, latch engagement and carry-handle security

  • Grate fit and finish inspection

  • Lava-rock pack-weight and accessory-count verification

  • Rating-label, warning-label, manual and carton cross-check

  • Carton protection and drop-test protocol when included in the buyer’s quality agreement

A signed golden sample and controlled bill of materials should be retained before production. Component substitutions in the gas train should require written approval and, where necessary, re-evaluation by the test body.

Packaging and Shipping Approach

The hard lid gives the EC-PF1 a naturally compact pack, but the internal layout still matters. A suitable export pack should:

  • Bag the lava rock separately so dust and movement do not damage the burner or finish

  • Isolate the regulator, hose and control components from the metal bowl

  • Prevent the grill grate from rattling against coated surfaces

  • Protect the piezo electrode from impact

  • Keep the instruction manual and loose hardware visible when the carton is opened

  • Carry clear “propane cylinder not included” and outdoor-use warnings

  • Use a tested insert design for parcel-shipping programs

Carton dimensions, gross weight, units per pallet and container quantity are confirmed after the approved sample and final accessory bundle are packed. This is more reliable than estimating logistics from the bare fire-bowl dimensions.

Safety and Use Notes

  • For outdoor use only in a fully open and well-ventilated area.

  • Never use inside a tent, RV, vehicle, garage, enclosed patio or other enclosed space.

  • Keep the appliance, hose and cylinder clear of combustible materials according to the approved manual.

  • Inspect the hose, regulator and connections before every use.

  • Perform the specified leak check after connecting the cylinder; never check for leaks with a flame.

  • Keep the hose away from the hot bowl, sharp edges and foot traffic.

  • Do not move the fire pit while it is lit or hot.

  • Remove the hard lid before lighting.

  • Allow the bowl, grate and lava rock to cool completely before covering, carrying or packing.

  • Use only the fuel, cylinder, regulator and pressure stated on the product rating label.

  • Do not use third-party conversion kits unless the converted appliance has been engineered and approved for that fuel.

  • Keep children and pets away from hot surfaces.

  • Check current campsite, municipal and regional fire restrictions before use. Propane appliances are not automatically permitted during every fire ban.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the INTECAMP EC-PF1?

The EC-PF1 is a 19-inch portable propane fire pit with a lockable hard cover, carry handle, adjustable flame, piezo ignition, long regulator hose, lava-rock set and removable grill grate. It is developed for wholesale, OEM and private-label outdoor product programs.

How much heat does the EC-PF1 produce?

The standard reference version is rated for a nominal maximum input of up to 60,000 BTU/h, approximately 17.6 kW. The final nameplate rating depends on the approved injector, burner, regulator pressure and destination-market gas configuration.

Is the propane cylinder included?

No. For the North American reference configuration, the fire pit connects to a standard external 20 lb propane cylinder, but the cylinder is purchased locally by the end user. Other markets require their own approved cylinder connection and regulator setup.

Is the cover a fabric bag?

No. The standard “cover” is a lockable hard lid with an integrated carry handle. A soft weather or storage bag can be developed as an optional accessory.

Can the lid stay on while the fire pit is operating?

No. Remove the lid before lighting. Refit it only after the appliance and lava rock are completely cool.

Can the EC-PF1 be used inside a tent or RV?

No. It is strictly an outdoor appliance and must only be used in a fully open, well-ventilated location with the required clearances from combustible materials.

Does the fire pit create smoke?

Correct propane combustion does not create wood smoke, ash or flying embers. It still produces hot combustion gases, including carbon monoxide, which is why outdoor-only use is mandatory.

Can the EC-PF1 be used during a fire ban?

Only when the responsible local authority permits that type of propane appliance under the current restriction. Rules vary by location and conditions, so the product should not be advertised as automatically legal during all fire bans.

Can customers cook on the grill grate?

The standard configuration includes a removable grate. If the product is marketed for cooking, the final grate material, food-contact documentation, instructions and applicable compliance testing must be included in the buyer’s project scope.

Is the same regulator suitable for the US, Canada, Europe and Australia?

No. Cylinder valves, connectors, LPG categories and supply pressures vary. INTECAMP configures the gas hose and regulator after the destination market and applicable requirements have been confirmed.

Can the unit be converted to natural gas?

Natural gas is not part of the standard EC-PF1 configuration. Any alternative-fuel version must be separately engineered, rated, labeled and assessed. End users should not install an unapproved third-party conversion kit.

Can INTECAMP add our brand and retail packaging?

Yes. Logo application, product color, labels, manuals, barcode artwork, retail cartons and selected accessories can be developed for private-label orders. Functional changes are reviewed separately because they may affect testing and approval.

What are the MOQ and production lead time?

They depend on the gas-system configuration, coating color, packaging, certification scope and order quantity. Send the target country and proposed purchase volume for a project-specific quotation.
