A full-size fire pit is excessive for many campsites, but a candle-sized flame does not create a genuine fireside atmosphere. The EC-SFP-1 sits between the two. This compact, real-wood fire pit gives car campers, RV travellers, overlanders and patio users a clean-looking focal flame without asking them to carry a bulky steel bowl.

The fire chamber uses a double-wall structure with lower air inlets and upper reburn ports. As the chamber heats, rising air is fed back into the flame zone, where it helps burn gases and fine particles that would otherwise become visible smoke. With dry fuel, open air passages and correct loading, the result is a hotter, cleaner-looking burn with considerably less smoke than a simple single-wall fire container.

At approximately 7 inches in diameter and 2.3 pounds in weight, EC-SFP-1 is easy to add to a vehicle-based camping kit. It burns either small pieces of dry hardwood or wood pellets, requires no gas cartridge, battery, fan or electrical connection, and packs with its folding stand in a carry bag.

For outdoor retailers and private-label brands, the format is equally practical: one compact SKU serves camping, patio, glamping and gifting ranges, while the finish, logo, packaging and accessory bundle can be adapted for different channels.

What “Smokeless” Means in Real Use

No open wood fire is completely smoke-free from ignition to shutdown. A cold chamber, damp wood, bark, resinous softwood, restricted airflow or an overloaded fuel bed will all create smoke. “Smokeless” describes the way a properly heated secondary-combustion chamber reduces visible smoke during the main burn.

EC-SFP-1 is designed to do this without a powered fan:

  1. Cool air enters through openings around the lower body.

  2. Part of that air feeds the fuel bed from below to support primary combustion.

  3. Another portion rises inside the space between the inner and outer walls.

  4. The heated air returns through upper ports above the fuel.

  5. When the chamber is hot enough, this oxygen helps ignite unburned gases above the main fire.

The upper flame ring keeps the flame path centred and supports a stable secondary burn. Users get the best result when the upper ports remain visible and unobstructed.

Why the EC-SFP-1 Works for Camping Ranges

Real Flame Without a Full-Size Fire Bowl

The 7-inch body creates a useful flame for two to four people seated nearby, yet takes up little space in an SUV, campervan or RV storage compartment. It is best suited to car camping, overlanding, tailgating and glamping rather than weight-sensitive backpacking.

Two Readily Available Fuel Choices

Users can burn short pieces of dry hardwood when natural firewood is permitted, or use wood pellets for more uniform loading and a predictable flame. The dual-fuel format also helps retailers serve customers in different regions with one core product.

No Gas-System Complexity

There is no cylinder, hose, regulator, valve or ignition circuit. This simplifies transport, shelf presentation and after-sales support. It also gives the end user a genuine wood flame rather than a gas-flame effect.

Compact Storage

The folding stand collapses after use and nests with the fire pit for transport. A fitted carry bag protects nearby camping equipment from loose ash and surface soot once the unit is completely cold and cleaned.

Built for Repeated Heating Cycles

The 304 stainless steel body resists outdoor corrosion and tolerates high combustion temperatures. Natural heat tinting and patina will develop on uncoated stainless steel over time; this is a normal result of repeated heating rather than a structural defect.

A Product Customers Understand Quickly

The operating sequence is simple: open the stand, place the unit on a stable non-combustible surface, add suitable fuel below the upper ports, ignite with a fire starter and allow the chamber to reach secondary-burn temperature.

That makes EC-SFP-1 easy to demonstrate in retail videos, product photography and dealer training.

Fuel Selection and Burn Performance

The quality of the fuel matters more than most product listings admit.

For wood burning, use short pieces of dry, seasoned hardwood that sit below the upper secondary-air ports. Wood with a moisture content below approximately 20% normally lights more easily and produces less smoke than damp or freshly cut material. Avoid filling the chamber so tightly that air cannot pass through the fuel bed.

For pellet burning, load pellets only to a level below the upper internal ports. Add small quantities when refuelling; pouring a large mass of pellets onto a weak flame can block oxygen, lower the chamber temperature and create smoke.

Where food will be held over the flame, use cooking-grade hardwood pellets and separately approved food-contact accessories. Heating pellets may contain materials that are unsuitable for that purpose.

Under favourable conditions, a full pellet load can provide approximately 45 to 60 minutes of flame. Wind, fuel density, moisture, ambient temperature, loading height and refuelling practice all affect the actual result. Wood burn time varies with piece size and species.

Quality-Control Points for B2B Orders

A sensible inspection plan for a compact fire pit should go beyond checking the exterior finish. For EC-SFP-1 orders, the control plan can include:

  • Stainless steel grade verification against the agreed material specification

  • Body diameter, height, concentricity and wall-gap checks

  • Air-hole position and blockage inspection

  • Deburring of all hand-contact edges

  • Grate fit, flame-ring fit and nesting check

  • Stand opening, stability and load check on a level surface

  • Weld, joint and deformation inspection

  • Coating appearance and heat-cycle evaluation for coloured versions

  • Sample combustion test using agreed wood and pellet fuel

  • Carry-bag fit and accessory count verification

  • Retail-packaging and master-carton checks

  • Pre-shipment inspection to the buyer’s agreed sampling level

Material reports, dimensional inspection records, batch traceability, packaging tests and third-party product testing can be discussed according to the destination market and retail channel.

Documentation Support for Importers

Because EC-SFP-1 has no gas or electrical system, its documentation route is generally simpler than that of a gas fire pit or powered stove. It still needs clear safety information and market-specific traceability.

Available documentation support can include:

  • Product specification sheet

  • Bill of materials for the approved configuration

  • Risk-assessment input and safety-warning layout

  • Batch or date-code traceability

  • Country-of-origin and importer-label fields

  • English, French, German or Spanish instructions

  • Material and restricted-substance testing coordination on request

  • EU GPSR documentation support for relevant European retail programs

  • Market-specific label review for the UK, United States, Canada and Australia

Final test standards, product claims and label content should be agreed before sample approval. A generic certificate from a visually similar product should never be substituted for documentation covering the ordered model.

Safe Use and Care

EC-SFP-1 is for adult-operated outdoor use only.

  • Place it on a flat, stable and non-combustible surface in open air.

  • Always use the supplied stand, but do not assume the stand makes every tabletop heat-safe.

  • Keep the unit away from tents, awnings, umbrellas, trees, dry vegetation, buildings and other overhead or nearby combustibles.

  • Do not use indoors, in a vehicle, in a tent or in any enclosed or partly enclosed space. Burning wood produces carbon monoxide.

  • Do not use in strong or gusty wind.

  • Never use gasoline, alcohol, lighter fluid or another flammable liquid to ignite or relight the fire.

  • Do not overfill the chamber or block the upper air ports.

  • Never leave the fire unattended while burning, hot or cooling.

  • Keep children, pets, loose clothing and electrical cables away from the unit.

  • Do not extinguish a hot stainless steel fire pit with water unless the product instructions specifically direct it; rapid cooling can deform metal and create hot steam.

  • Allow the fire, embers and ash to cool fully before handling, cleaning or packing.

  • Dispose of ash in accordance with local fire-safety rules; embers may remain hot for hours.

  • Check local fire bans and campsite rules before lighting any solid-fuel fire.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the EC-SFP-1 completely smokeless?

No wood-burning product produces zero smoke in every phase and condition. EC-SFP-1 reduces visible smoke after the chamber becomes hot enough for secondary combustion. Dry fuel, correct loading and unobstructed air ports are essential.

What fuel can I use?

Use small, dry hardwood pieces, dry twigs or compatible wood pellets. Do not use coal, charcoal briquettes, liquid fuel, household waste, treated timber or fuel containing unknown additives unless the approved product manual specifically permits it.

How long does a pellet load burn?

A full load can burn for approximately 45 to 60 minutes in favourable conditions. The exact time depends on pellet type, loading level, wind and refuelling practice. This figure should be verified on the final production configuration.

Can I put it on a wooden camping table?

The safest choice is a level, non-combustible base. The folding stand elevates the fire pit, but radiant and trapped heat can still damage wood, plastic, composite or painted surfaces. Use additional tested heat protection and follow the surface manufacturer’s limits.

Can it be used inside a tent or under an awning?

No. It must be used outdoors in an open area, away from overhead structures and combustible materials. Never use it for indoor or tent heating because combustion produces carbon monoxide.

Can I cook on the fire pit?

EC-SFP-1 is supplied as an outdoor fire product, not a primary cooking stove. Roasting or cooking accessories should be separately specified, made from suitable food-contact materials and assessed for the target market.

Why does stainless steel change colour?

High heat can create gold, blue or darker heat tint on stainless steel. Soot and patina also develop during normal wood burning. These changes are cosmetic and expected, provided there is no abnormal deformation, cracking or corrosion.

Is a gas canister required?

No. EC-SFP-1 burns solid wood fuel or pellets and has no gas connection, fan, battery or electrical component.

Is the model suitable for backpacking?

At about 1.04 kg, it is portable but better suited to car camping, campervans, RVs and overlanding than to ultralight hiking.

Can retailers order custom colours and packaging?

Yes. Natural stainless steel, selected heat-resistant colours, logo marking, carry-bag branding, multilingual manuals and private-label cartons can be quoted. MOQ and lead time depend on the finish and packaging specification.

What information is needed for a quotation?

Please provide the destination market, estimated order quantity, expected annual volume, preferred finish, logo method, packaging channel, accessory bundle, required languages and any retailer-specific testing protocol.

This allows the quotation to cover the actual landed-product configuration rather than a misleading bare-unit price.
