EC-SFP-1 Fold-Flat Four-Slice Camp Stove Toaster

A camping toaster for gas stove is a simple metal accessory that converts the heat from a camp-stove burner into a broader toasting surface. There is no plug, heating element or complicated mechanism. A steel diffuser plate sits over the burner, while four folding wire holders position the bread around the rising heat.

EC-SFP-1 is designed for campers who want toast at breakfast without packing a powered appliance or balancing bread directly over a flame. It holds up to four standard slices at one time and folds down to approximately 5/8 inch thick, making it easy to store beside a griddle, cutting board or camp dinnerware.

The format is equally useful for outdoor retailers. It is compact, instantly understandable and easy to cross-sell with two-burner propane or butane camp stoves. For private-label programs, INTECAMP can adapt the wire material, surface treatment, branding, instructions and retail packaging to the buyer’s destination market.

How the EC-SFP-1 Toasts Bread

The circular steel base performs two jobs. First, it shields the bread from direct contact with the gas flame. Second, it absorbs and redistributes burner heat across a wider area. Warm air then rises around the angled slices held by the folding wire frames.

The bread faces inward toward the heated centre. Once the first side reaches the preferred colour, the user turns each slice so the second side can brown. Because the heat source is a live gas burner rather than a thermostat-controlled electric toaster, timing depends on burner size, flame level, wind, bread thickness, moisture and how frequently the slices are rotated.

The best results come from a low-to-medium flame and regular attention. A very high flame does not necessarily make better toast; it can create a hot centre, scorch one part of the bread and overheat the diffuser plate before the outer areas catch up.

Four Slices Without Packing a Countertop Appliance

Breakfast Capacity for Couples and Families

The four-sided wire layout allows up to four regular bread slices to toast together. It is a better match for family camping, caravan kitchens and rental fleets than a narrow single-slice rack, while still using only one burner.

Four-slice capacity refers to standard sliced bread. Oversized artisan loaves, bagels, buns and very thick slices may not fit securely and should be checked against the approved production sample.

Folds to Dinner-Plate Size

When the wire holders are folded against the base, the unit measures approximately 9 inches in diameter and 5/8 inch thick. That flat shape is easier to pack than a boxed pop-up toaster and gives retailers efficient shelf, parcel and master-carton utilisation.

No Electrical Connection

EC-SFP-1 relies on the customer’s compatible camp stove. There is no power lead, plug, heating coil, timer or electronic control. This avoids electrical-market variants and makes the accessory useful at campsites without mains power.

Mechanically Simple

The toaster consists mainly of a heat-diffuser plate and folding wire holders. The simplicity is a commercial advantage, but execution still matters: poor wire retention, sharp edges, unstable geometry or a base that warps after heating can quickly turn a low-cost accessory into a high-return item.

Easy to Merchandise With Existing Stove Lines

The product can be displayed beside two-burner camp stoves, kettles, griddles and breakfast cookware. It works as an add-on purchase rather than asking the retailer to introduce another fuel platform or high-ticket product.

Specification control: Dimensions, weight, wire material, finish, food-contact status, stove compatibility and packaging must be confirmed against the approved EC-SFP-1 production sample.

Stove Compatibility: Fit Is More Than Burner Diameter

“Fits most camp stoves” should not be treated as a universal guarantee. The toaster must sit flat and centred on the cooking grate. It must not rock, slip, cover the stove controls or reflect excessive heat toward a fuel compartment.

Stove type

Compatibility guidance

Conventional two-burner propane camp stove

Recommended format when the grate supports the full base and one burner can be centred underneath

Two-burner butane/propane suitcase stove

Usually suitable if the base remains clear of fuel compartments, controls and windscreen panels

Remote-hose single-burner stove

Conditional; use only when the grate is wide and stable enough for the 9-inch plate

Cassette butane stove

Conditional and often unsuitable if the plate overhangs or reflects heat toward the internal canister compartment

Canister-top backpacking stove

Not recommended unless the complete combination has been specifically tested for stability and reflected heat

Household indoor gas range

Not the intended use; EC-SFP-1 is developed as an outdoor camp-stove accessory

Induction cooktop

Not compatible because the product is designed for direct burner heat, not induction cooking

Retailers should list tested host-stove formats or minimum grate requirements rather than rely only on the words “universal fit.”

  1. Use the host stove outdoors on a level, stable and non-combustible surface.

  2. Confirm the burner is off before placing the toaster.

  3. Unfold all four wire holders fully and check that they remain securely positioned.

  4. Centre the steel base over one burner. The plate must sit flat on the cooking grate.

  5. Light the burner according to the stove manufacturer’s instructions and begin with a low flame.

  6. Allow the diffuser plate to warm briefly, then place one slice in each holder.

  7. Watch the bread continuously. Rotate positions or turn slices as needed for more even browning.

  8. Use heat-resistant tongs to turn the bread; do not touch the wire frame or base.

  9. Turn off the burner as soon as toasting is complete.

  10. Let the toaster cool fully before folding, cleaning or packing.

Actual toasting time varies. Publishing a fixed “minutes per batch” claim is not advisable unless it is tied to a named burner output, bread specification, test method and acceptable colour range.

What Buyers Should Expect From the Toast

EC-SFP-1 produces camp-stove toast, not pop-up-toaster toast. The surface may brown faster near the centre, and individual slices may need to be changed from one position to another. Wind can cool the outside edges, while sugar, butter or dense bread can darken more quickly.

That is not a reason to oversell the product. Clear instructions produce better reviews than promising automatic uniformity. The appeal lies in making four warm slices with a compact non-electric tool at a campsite—not in reproducing a kitchen appliance down to the last shade of brown.

For best results:

  • Use bread of similar thickness across the four positions.

  • Start with low or medium heat.

  • Do not leave the bread unattended.

  • Turn the slices before the first side becomes too dark.

  • Rotate positions if the host stove has an uneven flame pattern.

  • Avoid applying butter or oil before toasting, as dripping fat can flare or smoke.

  • Family car camping

  • Overland and 4x4 camp kitchens

  • Campervan, caravan and RV accessory ranges

  • Glamping accommodation

  • Outdoor breakfast stations

  • Camping equipment rental fleets

  • Scout, school and supervised group camps

  • Picnic and tailgating kits

B2B Value for Retailers and Distributors

A Logical Add-On to Gas Stove Sales

Customers purchasing a two-burner stove already have the required heat source. The toaster gives sales teams a simple cross-sell for breakfast cooking without adding another major piece of equipment.

Flat-Pack Shipping Efficiency

The approximately 5/8-inch folded depth allows more units per master carton than a three-dimensional toaster. It also reduces parcel volume for e-commerce and makes the product suitable for hanging cards, shallow cartons and compact shelf displays.

Broad Consumer Recognition

The product needs little explanation in a listing thumbnail: four slices arranged around a camp-stove burner communicate the function immediately. Detailed copy can then answer the less obvious questions about turning, flame control and compatible stove formats.

Low-Complexity After-Sales Support

There are no electrical or gas-system components inside the toaster. Most quality issues can be traced to wire retention, deformation, corrosion, sharp edges, poor packaging or unclear instructions—points that can be addressed through a disciplined production specification.

Multiple Retail Positions

The same core item can sit in camp cooking, caravan accessories, picnic equipment, emergency preparedness or seasonal outdoor-living ranges.

OEM, ODM and Private-Label Options

INTECAMP can develop EC-SFP-1 for importers, camping brands, stove suppliers, retailers and promotional programs.

Material and Construction Options

  • Steel diffuser-plate thickness review

  • Stainless steel or alternative corrosion-resistant wire specification

  • Revised bread-retaining bends for standard or thicker slices

  • Improved hinge or wire-locking geometry

  • Edge-forming and stiffness improvements

  • Optional storage sleeve or carry pouch

Any change in wire gauge, surface finish or plate thickness should be followed by heat-cycle, fold-cycle and toasting tests. A thicker plate may resist warping but take longer to heat; a thinner plate may heat quickly but distort more easily.

Branding Options

  • Embossed or debossed logo on a low-risk area of the base

  • Laser or permanent product marking

  • Branded storage pouch

  • Custom instruction leaflet

  • Retail carton, card or paper sleeve

  • Barcode, SKU, country-of-origin and importer labels

Branding must not create sharp edges, trap food debris or introduce ink or coating into a high-temperature food-contact area.

Packaging Formats

  • Polybag with printed header card

  • Recyclable paper sleeve

  • Flat kraft carton

  • Full-colour retail box

  • Reinforced e-commerce mailer

  • Multi-piece promotional set

  • Master carton prepared for pallet or container loading

Plastic-free or reduced-plastic packaging can be developed where the paperboard and internal restraints still prevent the wire holders from bending during distribution.

Quality-Control Plan for Wholesale Orders

A small camping toaster is inexpensive, but it still combines direct food contact, an open flame and repeated folding. The inspection plan should reflect all three.

Recommended control points include:

  • Incoming steel and wire material verification

  • Base diameter, flatness and edge-forming inspection

  • Wire gauge, spacing, symmetry and retaining-force checks

  • Full open and full closed position verification

  • Folding-cycle test to an agreed number of operations

  • Sharp-edge, burr and protruding-wire inspection

  • Four-slice retention test using agreed bread dimensions

  • Stability test on representative two-burner stove grates

  • High-temperature exposure and repeated heat-cycle test

  • Diffuser-plate distortion check before and after heating

  • Standardised toasting test using an agreed burner, flame level and bread specification

  • Corrosion-resistance or humidity testing where required

  • Food-contact material and surface-treatment verification

  • Packaging compression, vibration or drop testing appropriate to the channel

  • Barcode, manual, accessory and carton-mark verification

  • Pre-shipment inspection to the agreed sampling level

Toast appearance should be evaluated with a defined method. Photographs of one successful batch are not enough to establish repeatable performance across production lots.

Food-Contact and Market Documentation

The bread rests directly against the wire holders, so their base material, plating and any processing aids must be suitable for the intended high-temperature food-contact use. The diffuser plate also sits in the hot food zone and may receive crumbs or drips.

Documentation support can be agreed for the destination market, including:

  • Product specification and bill of materials

  • Food-contact material declaration for the approved configuration

  • Applicable migration, heavy-metal or coating test reports

  • U.S. food-contact material status review against the intended conditions of use

  • EU food-contact assessment, including Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and applicable GMP requirements where relevant

  • German LFGB testing when required by the retailer

  • California Proposition 65 material-risk review where requested

  • EU GPSR product-safety, traceability and warning information

  • Batch code, importer and responsible-person label fields

  • English, French, German or Spanish instructions

  • Retailer-specific protocol and third-party testing coordination

Testing must cover the actual wire material and surface treatment used for EC-SFP-1. A report for uncoated stainless steel does not automatically cover zinc plating, chrome plating, paint or another finish.

Safety Instructions

  • Use outdoors only with a compatible gas camp stove.

  • Follow all instructions and restrictions supplied with the host stove.

  • Never use a gas stove or toaster inside a tent, vehicle, cabin or other enclosed space.

  • Place the stove on a stable, level and non-combustible surface.

  • Centre the toaster securely over one burner before ignition.

  • Do not use if the plate overhangs a fuel-cylinder compartment or reflects heat toward a cartridge, hose, valve or control panel.

  • Begin with a low flame. Flames should not extend around the outside edge of the diffuser plate.

  • Never leave bread unattended; it can scorch or ignite.

  • Do not use buttered, heavily oiled or alcohol-soaked food on the toaster.

  • Keep children, loose clothing and combustible items away from the appliance.

  • Do not touch, move, fold or pack the toaster while hot.

  • Use heat-resistant tongs or gloves when turning bread.

  • If bread ignites, turn off the stove fuel supply if it is safe to do so. Do not blow burning crumbs toward the gas appliance.

  • Allow the toaster to cool completely before cleaning or storage.

  • Do not use a bent, cracked, badly corroded or unstable unit.

Cleaning and Storage

Wait until the toaster is completely cool. Shake loose crumbs away from the stove and fuel area. Wipe the plate and wire holders with a soft damp cloth and mild detergent where permitted by the final care instructions.

Do not use aggressive chemicals or abrasives that can remove the protective finish. Dry the product thoroughly before folding and storage. Trapped moisture can cause corrosion, especially around wire bends and formed edges.

Inspect the holders periodically. Loose wires, damaged retaining bends or a warped base can reduce stability and should be corrected before further use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a camping toaster for gas stove?

It is a non-electric accessory placed over a compatible camp-stove burner. A metal plate diffuses the flame heat while folding wire holders position bread around the heated centre.

How many slices does EC-SFP-1 hold?

It holds up to four standard bread slices at one time. Very thick, oversized or unusually shaped bread should be checked for secure fit.

Does it toast both sides automatically?

No. The user toasts one side and then turns each slice with heat-resistant tongs. Regular turning and position changes improve browning consistency.

Will it fit every gas camping stove?

No accessory should be described as fitting every stove. EC-SFP-1 is designed around conventional two-burner camp-stove grates. The 9-inch base must sit flat without covering controls or reflecting heat toward a fuel compartment.

Can I use it on a butane cassette stove?

Only if the toaster fits fully on the grate and does not overhang or direct heat toward the canister compartment. Many cassette stoves have specific cookware-size limits, which take priority over the toaster instructions.

Can I use it on a canister-top backpacking stove?

It is not recommended unless that complete combination has been specifically tested. A 9-inch steel plate can be unstable on a small pot support and may reflect heat toward the canister.

What flame setting should I use?

Start with low heat and increase only if required. Excessive flame can scorch the centre of the bread, warp the plate and overheat nearby stove components.

How long does the bread take to toast?

Time varies with burner output, wind, preheating, bread moisture and slice thickness. For that reason, the bread must be watched continuously rather than timed and left unattended.

Will the toast be as even as an electric toaster?

Not necessarily. Camp-stove burners create concentrated heat and outdoor wind changes the temperature around the bread. Turning and rotating the slices is part of normal operation.

Is the toaster made from stainless steel?

The reference configuration uses a steel base with corrosion-resistant wire holders. Stainless steel wire can be specified for an OEM version, subject to sample, performance and food-contact approval.

Can I put butter on the bread before toasting?

It is safer to toast plain bread and add butter afterwards. Fat can drip onto the hot plate, create smoke and increase the risk of flare-up.

Does the toaster include a gas stove?

No. EC-SFP-1 is a toaster accessory only. The gas stove, hose, regulator and fuel cylinder are not included.

Can the product be privately branded?

Yes. Logo marking, wire material, storage pouch, instructions and retail packaging can be customised. MOQ and lead time depend on the complete specification.

What information is required for a wholesale quotation?

Please provide the destination market, order quantity, estimated annual volume, target stove types, preferred wire material, packaging format, logo method, required languages, testing protocol and delivery date.
